Jacobo Casas, Commercial Director, Grupo Acideka

Jacobo Casas recently joined Grupo Acideka to lead the commercial area and empower the team to achieve more ambitious goals. With his experience and commercial background, Grupo Acideka continues to consolidate as a high-performance company, becoming increasingly competitive and offering the best quality in services and products.

How do you define yourself?

I consider myself a person passionate about challenges, results-oriented, with a great ability to establish solid relationships with clients and collaborators. I’m an adventurous, adaptable individual with a lot of drive, always seeking ways to overcome obstacles and achieve new goals.

Tell us a bit about your journey in commercial roles in other sectors, and what are the main differences you notice with the chemical sector?

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work in different sectors, including security technology with Dräger, lighting industry with Aura Light, and consumer products industry with 3M. One of the main differences I’ve noticed upon entering the chemical sector with Grupo Acideka is the need to understand the science behind chemical products and how the dynamics among different market players work. Additionally, part of what we sell are commodities, so we need to be attentive to prices that fluctuate daily and are bought and sold as if they were company stocks.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing our sector today?

I believe one of the biggest challenges facing the sector today is the increasing regulatory pressure and demand for more sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions. Additionally, market competition is constantly rising, requiring clear differentiation and constant innovation in products and services.

Can you give us a sneak peek into a goal for Grupo Acideka in 2024?

In 2024, our goal at Grupo Acideka is to consolidate our position as leaders in the water treatment solutions market, expanding our presence both nationally and internationally. We are committed to continuing to develop innovative products that not only meet the current needs of our customers but also contribute to environmental conservation.

What are the essential ingredients for commercial success in your opinion?

The essential ingredients for commercial success include keeping customer needs in mind to establish long-term relationships, building a solid network of business relationships, defining a clear commercial strategy, and creating a culture of teamwork and collaboration, as well as a constant pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement. In summary, it could be said that Grupo Acideka’s success lies in working day by day following our five core values: Commitment, Honesty, Excellence, Sustainability, and Teamwork, also setting ourselves apart with the quality of our products.
